Maryhaven is a nonprofit, Long Island based agency committed to helping persons with special needs including intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and/or substance abuse/dependence issues to realize their full potential. The agency's purpose is to establish, maintain and operate progressive programs and services which are residential, educational, vocational, and rehabilitative in nature. The ideal goal is the attainment of normalization, in all aspects of life, for each individual we support.
Responsibilities will include:
To assist Supervisor in kitchen duties; take charge of the kitchen when supervisor is absent.
1.Able to independently do all food prep and cooking.
2.Ability to operate all kitchen equipment and clean kitchen and equipment.
3.Train individuals and new staff in dietary skills.
4.When supervisor is not available, to be responsible for money, ordering food and cooking.
5.Schedules staff, as required, in the absence of the supervisor.
6.Directs the activities of the aides in the absence of the supervisor.
7.Serve meals to staff and individuals.
8. Work agency special events. May require additional hours beyond the regular schedule.
